Beacon measures website performance in two ways: from a script you install, which reports Core Web Vitals from your real visitors, and from tests we run against a page from the outside. It turns both into dashboards, alerts and branded reports.

You need an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what happens under your account.

You may install the script on websites you own or are authorised to work on. You may not install it on a site you have no relationship with, and you may not use the service to collect data about people in a way your own privacy notice does not allow.

One account tracks one website, with one script. To measure a second site, create a second account.

Plans differ by how many real-user pageviews we measure for you each calendar month on your website: 25,000 on Free, 250,000 on Starter and 2,000,000 on Agency.

Passing the allowance does not switch anything off and nothing is deleted. Beyond it we keep a one-in-ten sample of pageviews, so percentiles stay meaningful and counts read low, until the meter resets on the 1st. We email you when you pass 80% of the allowance.

Plans also differ by how long per-page history is kept, how many distinct pages are tracked, how many team members you can have, and whether regression alerts, scheduled reports and the live client dashboard are included. The current figures are on the pricing section and are enforced exactly as written there.

• Free is free indefinitely. No card, no trial period, no expiry.
• Starter includes a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it, and the first charge of $19 is taken automatically the day the trial ends. Cancel before then and you are not charged.
• Paid plans renew monthly at the price shown until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to add.
• You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not pro-rate part-months, and we do not cut you off mid-period.
• After a cancellation or a failed payment, data beyond the free plan's limits is retained read-only rather than deleted, so nothing is lost if you come back.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

Your measurements and reports are yours. We process visitor measurement data on your behalf, as described in the privacy policy, and only to provide the service to you. We do not sell it and we do not use it to build any product other than your own dashboards.

Report and client-dashboard links are unguessable and excluded from search engines, but they are public in the sense that anyone holding the link can open them. That is what makes them shareable without an account. You can revoke a link at any time.

Performance measurement is inherently approximate. Lab test scores vary between runs on the same page; percentile figures from real visits are interpolated within a bucket and are accurate to within about 50 milliseconds for the largest metric. Our numbers will not match Google's, because we measure a different population over a different window — that is explained on the FAQ. You should not treat any figure here as a guarantee of how a search engine will judge your site.

The service is provided as it is, without warranty. We rely on third-party providers — a host, a database, a mail provider and a testing API — and an outage at one of those is an outage here. We aim for the service to be available and will tell you when it is not, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on these plans.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost revenue, lost data or indirect losses.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that is using the service unlawfully, installing the script on sites it has no right to, attempting to break the service or other customers' isolation, or repeatedly failing to pay. Where it is not urgent, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute.
